These are just some of the words I could use to describe my good friend Ali. I first met Ali when I visited her venue The Newsagency, at “the old place” in Marrickville.
She’s honest, and thoughtful (a delivery of pumpkin soup when I was sick to prove it) and I was honoured to take the photos for her album - a three hour session in my lounge room where we drank tequila and sang along to Spice Girls and Britney Spears. We’ve shared a commercial space together and still have love and respect for each other. So I would say, that’s a pretty decent friendship indeed.

A bit about Carpenter Caswell: Allan Caswell is an Australian artist that needs no introduction. Arguably Australia’s most recorded songwriter in any genre, his career spans over 4 decades in the country music world. As an artist his much celebrated career continues to evolve, including this collaboration with Michael Carpenter. Carpenter himself is no stranger to the Australian music scene. A singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer-engineer with well over 3 decades of involvement in the industry, he’s no slouch in the experience department.
I met Anabelle Kay through Michael McGlynn of Vienna People when Michael enquired about shooting a video in my studio.
The decision was made and I ended up being DOP as Michael directed the clip, and I snapped a couple of shots in the beautiful lighting.
The clip Nightmare Of A Dream is about a harrowing experience Anabelle had at LAX, being detained for 24 hours with no food, water or a mobile phone.
